What are the main factors for the success of bash for a mob?

I noticed that many times the reason I am killed by a mob is because of bash and or stun.

I would like to do everything possible to lower the chance of me being bashed.

Here are some of my stats (not sure if it will help)

Str: 20(17)
Int: 20(14)
Wis: 23(20)
Dex: 20(15)
Con: 16(1Cool
Luck: 19(17)
CHA: 12(12)
Hr:99
DR:88
Armor:-667

I'm 99% certain I've answered this one at some point either here or one of the ingame boards or possibly even some of the helpfiles (e.g. help str, dex)...
