Here's a thought, how about a two-line random tip that gets shown to people when they log in? Like for example,
"Lifestyles can help you fight better, fetch your corpse, or get you out of a tight spot. Read HELP LIFESTYLES for more."

Anyone want to compile a big list of maybe 40-50 different two-line tips to help the newer players along? Smile

Nice job, were you bored at work or something? I definitely like the idea and while most of Seph's seem good to me, I think some of them are kind of pointless. Things like race and class info are very accessible and I've never known a new player to NOT read race and class info so I think tips concerning basic stuff like that are a waste. Helpfiles and information that doesn't naturally come to the mind strike me as the best choices to put up as tips. Like the map information on the website or the magical tablets. I'll see if I can come up with anything useful.

See, class information is accessable and all that...
However, I'm not giving info for the class to the new players, I'm SELLING the classes to them, thus, they try different classes rather than trying one and dying and getting fed up. Thus they stick around a bit and get to know the place.

Basically to give it a bit of context, I was talking to Jarvik last night, and he said that if I hadn't told him about lifestyles then he wouldn't even know they existed, cause it's not like they're mentioned anywhere even in the academy, let along during normal gameplay. So it's stuff like that - the things I (and Delvael) didn't think of when we were setting out the newbie areas.

Hey, it is not a hippie trait, thank you very much. Blame Japan - they put it in quite a various array of foods. It is especially delicious in curry. You should try it. : D
