Isn't Gao the one that's full of nice items?

The only nice items in Gao are the black belt which is impossible to get, once again, and the greaves of yin and yang, which take roughly 20 hours of effort to finally get pops for.
He's talking about the monks of harmony. Theres good and evil monks, both of which are properly statted, then theres 'monks walking around pondering their inner harmony' These monks pop nothing, carry no good equipment, and are bitches. All their attacks are nododge noparry and they have like 6 attacks a round and tons of hps and i believe they dodge and may parry aswell, cant remember, i tend to steer well clear of them, they're very much not worth the 3qps they give considering i have to flee before they hit 50%.

I like equipment which is impossible to get, cause when you get it it makes you that much cooler. Anything that can be obtained via a group of 3-5 avatars might as well be obtainable by 2 because once the group gets formed, they're all going to sit there and camp the mob until they all have it.

Unless they're Waldo, in which case he'll ninja it and run away laughing.

Their eq isn't any good on its own, but it's layerable if you can find something to go with it.
I've cut the hps, the damdice, and the dex down a bit for you.

When did layerable become a synonym for good? Razz
I'd wager even *if* we could find "something" to go with it, the eq they have + something would still be < comparable eq.

Well, the next time I see the big V online ima wack one or two of those monks with him, and we'll file that equipment in our containers along with the other specimens we have under 'this thing layers with one of the 5000 ovnums in the world...' Very Happy

Vicks and I took on one of those 'fixed' gao harmony monks.
i feebled and used energy drain, had 687/1977hp at the end of the fight.

And his layering eq is pointlessly crappy :p

hey, at least you didn't have to flee Wink

I've trimmed them down a bit more, but they don't actually look that bad on paper for level 81s - they do have a resist that you might not be addressing properly though.
And hey, not _all_ eq has to be amazing. Also, I've been adding equipment to the mud most weeks for the past few months, most of which don't seem to have found their way to your inventories or clan stashes yet, so y'all can shut up thinking you know what's out there and what isn't :p

Found some titan vambraces that I don't remember seeing before ... they seem pretty understatted for level 85 eq tho... Wink

pfft, you're just spoiled is all.
I mean really, c'mon, you've been av'ing for as much as anyone, so it's a fairly safe bet that you should have the best eq in the game by now - so you're not really being fair to complain about the new items not being nicer than what you've already got. Cause not everyone's you.
