Thanks for the input Kalina!

Announcement: We've found a scapegoat!! Yay!!!

Very Happy

On a more serious note, I've obtained all but the harddrive for my new computer, so I should be back on a normal gaming schedule within a few days. Which means I can monitor this forum while I cry about the mud being down 24/7.

I don't know what caused the mud to crash, but it was Kalina's half-written corpse file that stopped it coming back up automatically. There was still plenty of disk space free at the time, so I don't know why it didn't finish writing. It could've been one of the other users on the server messing things up, I suppose. Either way, all fixed now. Apologies for the inconvenience.
I think maybe I'll bring a GPRS phone with me next time I go away for two week holidays.
